Dear Parents:
It seems hard to believe we have been back to school for a month. It is a crazy time getting back to activities, homework and sports. Not to mention getting the kids (and ourselves) up and out the door early. Can it be June yet?
Once again, St. Johns friendly school will be hosting up to 12 families for a 6-week exchange program with South Korean students. The students are scheduled to arrive January 6, 2010 and will leave February 15, 2010. If you are interested you can host one or two children, there are some sibling groups interested in the program. Families interested will receive a visit to your home by the Program Director, Ernest Yang after the students arrive. All families will receive reimbursement for expenses incurred while the student lives with you. The children will be touring Washington, New York, and Boston while here. However, the majority of the time they will stay with your family to get an idea as how Americans live. I am confident that the program has more “experience” then last year in addressing different issues that arise.
Our family has been blessed hosting two students from South Korea. Song, for 4 weeks last year, and now we have Julia staying with us until June. Our family has really enjoyed hosting the children. All though there have been challenges with each situation, I would not hesitate to host again.

Each family will be required to complete an application and will be take part in a phone interview conducted by the program director.
