| Extra curricular Programs Jr. Concert Band (4th Grade) - As a segue from recorders in the third grade. The students in the fourth grade may now have the chance to study on a traditional concert band instrument. These include flute, saxophone, clarinet, piccolo, trumpet, trombone, percussion. Along with private lessons our child will also prepare for performances held during the Christmas season and in the spring. Lesson times are by appointment. Ensemble rehearsal time TBA. Sr. Concert Band (Grades 5 through 8) - If your child has had an introduction on the desired instrument through lessons, than she/he may participate in our Sr. concert band. There are three performances scheduled for the year however there may be more. The student should also be studying privately. 2007 / 2008 rehearsal times are Tuesday evenings 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 pm. Dress Code We take pride in the appearance of our students. Their dress reflects the quality of the school, their conduct and their schoolwork. The complete uniform is to be worn to and from school. While at school, uniforms must be neat in appearance; shirts and blouses must be tucked in, boys should have belts to maintain a neat appearance. Gum chewing is not allowed. GIRLS (1-4) The plaid uniform jumper (bib or new style), plaid uniform shorts, or navy blue docker-style uniform pants are to be worn with a light blue blouse with a round collar, a monogrammed uniform polo shirt, or a light blue turtleneck purchased from the uniform company. Solid navy (no white) blue knee socks, ankle socks or tights are acceptable. No low-cut/sport socks are allowed. If at any time a second layer is needed for warmth, a monogrammed school sweater (crew, v-neck, vest or cardigan) may be worn. No other sweaters are allowed. DRESS UNIFORM (anytime of year): Jumper with light blue blouse. Shoes are preferred. Supply List 2007 update A new color code system for all subjects has been instituted. The color code system will be uniform throughout the school in Grades 1 through 8 (for folders, notebooks, etc). The colors are as follows: Religion - Yellow Reading - Red Math - Black In addition to this list of school supplies, each child should bring to school: box of tissues package of paper plates luncheon-size napkins The following list of supplies are designated by the grade level your child will be entering in September. Students are expected to be prepared with the above supplies THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR. |
